Data from GkK has revealed that Sony’s temporary price cut for the PS5 has seen UK sales of the console jump 75%, with revenue for the console up 63% week-on-week.
The PS5 has been selling for as low as £399 at major retailers including Amazon and GAME, with some shops throwing in a free game, such as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Forspoken, and Saints Row among those available.
As mentioned this is only a temporary price cut, with the PS5 due to return to its standard RRP later this month. Prices have been low for the console since June, and last week the average price of the PS5 was £423; the disc-based version of the system was the big performer, with sales up 205% and 162% in revenue.
Sony announced recently that the PS5 has now sold 40 million units worldwide since its launch in November 2020.
