Killing Floor 3 Dev Wants To Limit Microtransactions To Cosmetic Items, Is Still In Early Stages Of Production

Killing Floor 3 Creative Director, Bryan Wynia, has revealed during an interview with PCGamesN that monetisation for the upcoming shooter will be limited to cosmetic items only, and that the game is still in the early stages of development.

Wynia explained that the development team at Tripwire Interactive want to “learn from some things that players are enjoying right now” and ensure Killing Floor 3 doesn’t become “pay to win.” The team wants to keep micro transactions a “cosmetic-only driven system,” adding “when you look at how we’ve updated Killing Floor 2, there have been a lot of times like maps have been free.”

“That’s something we want to continue to explore at this time,” he continued, before making it clear that “it’s still early in development” and therefore “we’re still figuring out our monetisation plan.” However, Wynia assured fans that they “want to do something that is classic Killing Floor and elevating what games as a service is” so as to have it “fit within our brand and in our franchise.”
